Metallic Magic

There's just something about the power of a metallic. The statement sheen, iridescent hues and unmistakable way of making you feel, well... gold. However, often the most prize worthy of metals found within the sartorial world can be seen by most as mostly, " eveningwear " and " night-time" attire persevered only for formal events and parties.
That is about to change. Stumbling upon this treasure of a piece whilst raiding the jam packed, jumbled rails of a Gloucestershire charity shop, my heart fluttered and sang at the site of this mighty power piece.

Now not only does it pack a great big whopping punch when it comes to styling, but it also seams effortlessly from day to night. Dressed down with a favourite pair of jeans like I've done here, or even styled for the office with a neat pencil skirt or tailoring, to simple complementary jewellery ( not too much ), a slinky slip dress and a killer pair of heels for night.

The rugged beauty of the decaying concrete pier belonging to Filey along the North Yorkshire coast provides the perfect backdrop for a shimmering bold metallic look such as this, found sparkling over the aquatic layers of raw seaweed and eroded rock. The soft texture of the dull sand collides with acres of hidden worlds found swarming over craters known as rock pools, holding creatures scooting rapidly under mountains of rough patterned rock to avoid the sticky fingers of children and the strong tug of decaying net.

The relaxed, easy silhouette and perfect fit mean a shirt like this can be thrown easily over beach or holiday wear, or even incorporated as an added layer under slim bikers and trenches, clashed with textures such as velvet or leather to reveal an interesting peek of silver.

Since, perfectly understandably, the high street is currently obsessing over all things ruffles, gingham and floaty ( me too!! ), here are some treasures:
