pink velvet and denim

Velvet is a huge trend this season, seen on the catwalks everywhere from Prada to Preen all the way to Valentino, there's no mistaking its instant retro luxe appeal. After seeing all of the much more Gothic, darker versions all over the High street, i picked up this candy pink rollneck replica to put my own spin on the classic eighties texture and paired it with my pair of vintage mom jeans to create a more streamlined silhouette and to allow the top to do all the talking.

I have then just finished off the outfit with a simple black bag and white trainers with the instant hit of white giving the bolder colours a refreshing update and also making for a great everyday casual take on the trend.

The local supermarket makes the perfect backdrop for the quirky textural contrast between denim and velvet and, of course, some serious posing.
